About Mason
If you are reading this, let me just say good for you; you’re putting time and energy towards finding a therapist to help you learn and grow. Often, this first step is the hardest one!
As a counsellor, folks come to me frustrated and defeated about patterns they or the people in their lives repeat endlessly. I’m here to work with you to break those patterns, and see what amazing things are possible! You may be surprised what you and those around you are capable of with a little extra support from an experienced, compassionate counsellor.
In particular, I am passionate about relationships. Sometimes it feels like people have irreconcilable differences, or just can’t get past a hurt. I help folks find creative solutions, and facilitate deep listening so we can all feel closer and more connected again. I am kink and poly-competent, and love supporting folks of whatever relationship structure/orientation.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP), and a Bachelor of Public Health (BPH). I have experience in sexual education, working with sexual trauma, relationships, gender and sexuality, and love the work deeply.
Together, we can explore what is happening in your life and experiment with changes to meet your goals. Let’s get to work and see what’s possible!
When I am not working with individuals and relationships I can be found either rock climbing up mountains or skiing down them. I also love curling up with a good book, or a weird film, and am learning how to embroider!

About the Work
If technical terminology is important to you: I use evidence-based approaches like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman, Attachment-Focused therapy, among others. For something to be ‘evidence-based’ means that research demonstrates some amount of effectiveness in the therapy.
Jargon aside, here are some core principles that drive my work:
Trust, respect and universal acceptance are foundational to the work. I take pride in being able to put people at ease, and my ability to help folks feel welcomed and safe very quickly.
Therapy may be challenging, but it should not be painful. It’s like a workout: we may be emotionally sore, but it shouldn’t hurt. I work from a trauma competent lens to help you find a manageable balance.
No, there is not something inherently wrong with you. You are wonderful, you may just need a knowledgeable, warm, caring support-person.
